Dongle Protection Notes 02 June, 2011

Software protection files (dongle drivers) are installed automatically the first
time a Zonge dongle is connected to a computer.

If the drivers have not been installed, a light in the dongle will blink. Several
windows will be displayed titled "Found New Hardware". When the drivers have been
installed, the light in the dongle will not blink.

There may be one *REG.EXE file in the subdirectory for each protected program.
When the programs are installed, the *REG.EXE files will be installed.

If the *REG.EXE files are not included with the program files, they will be
provided separately. They need to be copied to the same directory to which the
protected programs have been installed.

If each program has been installed in a separate subdirectory, then these files
should be copied to a directory that is always on your environment variable PATH.

The dongle may be tested by simply running each registration program.
If the dongle is operating correctly, there will not be any messages.

If you move the dongle frequently between computers, connect an extension cable
to your USB port. Locate the other end at a convenient location, and plug the
dongle into the end of the cable, or into a USB hub that is connected to the end
of the cable.

When a protected program is started, a full-screen window opens with some text
displayed at the center. If the program does not continue past this point
almost immediately, there may be a problem with the dongle, with an error
message not visible behind the program window. Use Ctrl-Alt-Del to display the
Task Manager or Close Program window, then select the registration program
process and end that task. The protected program will exit with an error
message, then you can test the registration program separately. If you attempt
to use this method to stop the protected program, it may not respond until you
stop the registration program.
